5 Days Zanzibar Holiday
Zanzibar is a stunning archipelago in the Indian Ocean, located 36 km off the coast of mainland Tanzania. It comprises the main islands of Unguja and Pemba, along with around 50 smaller islets. As a semi-autonomous region within the United Republic of Tanzania, Zanzibar has its own government, consisting of a Revolutionary Council and a House of Representatives.
Once the heart of East Africa’s trade, Zanzibar attracted merchants from across the world, including Sumerians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Arabs, Chinese, and Malays. Legendary explorers like Burton, Speke, Livingstone, and Krapf also set sail from its shores. Today, the island is known for its breathtaking white-sand beaches, coral-fringed shores, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, making it a paradise for snorkeling, diving, deep-sea fishing, and water sports. The historic Stone Town, with its winding alleyways, bustling markets, and rich cultural heritage, offers a fascinating glimpse into Zanzibar’s past. Often referred to as the “Spice Island,” Zanzibar is famous for its aromatic spices such as cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom, and pepper, which have shaped its history and economy for centuries.
